70 Gilgandra Road, North Bondi

Renowned interiors and lifestyle photographer Prue Ruscoe has long captured some of the best designer residences around the world, so it was with no small measure of excitement to see the images of her own North Bondi home ahead of its upcoming May 23 auction.

Ruscoe and her husband, former commodities trader George Moretti, bought the more than 220-square-metre property in 2001 for $709,000 as a home-rebuild project thanks to a few key credentials: north at the rear, near the beach, and a warehouse-style internal space with high ceilings.

An architect redesign followed with interiors left to Ruscoe and inspired by the many stylists like Amanda Mahoney whom she has worked with, as well as the many grand homes in the US she was shooting at the time.

As the couple scouts another project closer to the city – this time a downsizer – the Gilgandra Road property hits the market after another recent update internally with a $2.9 million guide through Debbie Donnelley, of Phillips Pantzer Donnelley.
