Get Into The Neighbourhood Spirit, Halloween Style

31 Oct 2025

There’s something magical about Halloween in the east, when the streets come alive with colour, cobwebs and community spirit. From Bondi’s beachside lanes to Waverley’s leafy cul-de-sacs and Queens Park’s Federation pockets, neighbours go all out with spooky displays and pumpkin-lined porches. It’s one of those special times when the whole neighbourhood comes together and families wander the streets with little ghouls and superheroes in tow and, with no school tomorrow, expect a lively evening as the fun stretches into the night.

Every year, a few standout streets steal the show when it comes to Halloween spirit, so we’ve rounded up some of the best neighbourhoods in the east for a trick-or-treat adventure.

Waverley & Queens Park
Charing Cross and the streets spilling off Henrietta and Victoria Streets always bring the atmosphere with haunted houses, fog machines and neighbours handing out treats from decked-out verandahs.

Bondi
Hastings Parade and Avoca Street lead the ghoulish parade, while Murriverie Road also embraces the spooky spirit with creative flair.

Bronte & Clovelly
Boundary Street, Chesterfield Parade and the family-friendly pockets around St Thomas Street are go-to spots for trick-or-treaters. There’s always a great community vibe and someone handing out glow sticks!

Coogee & Randwick
The avenues near The Spot and Frenchmans Road light up with everything from inflatable ghosts to cobweb-covered fences, it’s impossible not to get caught up in the fun. And Creer Street goes all in, transforming into “Creep Street” for the night!

Pagewood & Maroubra
Check out the quiet family streets near Heffron Park and Jellicoe Avenue, where friendly faces, generous lolly buckets and laughter are guaranteed.

Whether you’re going all in or just soaking up the neighbourhood buzz, Halloween is a reminder that home is about more than bricks and mortar, it’s about belonging. From the family-friendly pockets of Pagewood to the leafy lanes of Waverley and the beachside streets of Bronte, our suburbs shine brightest when neighbours come together and Halloween is the perfect excuse to do just that.

Wherever you’re celebrating, we hope your night is full of friendly frights, happy kids and neighbourhood magic. From all of us at PPD, have a safe and spooky Halloween and may your lolly stash overflow!
