First Home Buyer Opportunities In The East
The good news for first home buyers is that the NSW Government’s expansion of the First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme came into effect on the first of this month. From July, the transfer duty exemption threshold for eligible first home buyers increased from $650K to $800K and the concessional rare from $800K to $1m. More good news is that there are plenty of opportunities in the east for those keen to own their own place, so we’ve rounded up four of the best.
Opposite Waverley Park at the gateway to the beach, 4/134B Bondi Road, Bondi is a boutique two-bedroom apartment with a buyer’s guide of $750K. Max Rosen says, “This is a perfect opportunity for those looking to get a foothold in Bondi and is ready to move straight in. It’s one of only 12 in a grand Art Deco block and offers not only easy access to the beach action but is just 850m to Westfield and Bondi Junction’s urban playground.”
Tristan Oddi’s listing at 4/282 New South Head Road, Double Bay is an 86sqm apartment in the grand Princeton, one of the bay’s landmark Art Deco buildings, with a buyer’s guide of $900K. With curved lines and no common walls, the elegantly renovated apartment was reconfigured to create an oversized one-bedroom layout and could easily be converted back into a two-bedroom home.
In Coogee, Doreen Wilson’s listing at 10/158 Oberon Street, Coogee is a boutique two-bedroom apartment with a lock-up garage and a buyer’s guide of $900K. Just down from Bangor Park with ocean parkland at the end of the street, the two-bedroom apartment is within easy reach of the beach action as well as The Spot’s dining hub and Randwick town centre.
With over 100sqm of living space, Anthony Puntigam’s listing in the Capella building at 301A/264 Anzac Parade, Kensington offers exceptional value for a two-bedroom apartment with parking. With a buyer’s guide of $950K, the contemporary third-floor apartment is just 400m to the light rail and features access to sunny landscaped gardens with a heated 25m pool and gym.
